Pediatric Dentist

If you’re looking for a pediatric dentist, Dr. Brady Sherly is a general dentist who loves treating both children and adults. Dr. Sherly’s gentle manner makes even very young children feel comfortable in our office.

What Is a Pediatric Dentist?

A pediatric dentist has two years of post-graduate training specific to dentistry for children. Pediatric dentistry is a licensed specialty. Dr. Sherly is not a pediatric dentist, but he is able to provide the basic dental treatment that children need. Although it is unlikely to happen, if your child has a dental issue that requires a specialist, Dr. Sherly will refer you to one.

Prepare Your Child for a Visit

Before it’s time for your child to have his or her first dental appointment, practice good oral hygiene at home. Gently wipe the first tooth that erupts with a soft, damp cloth. Let your child watch you floss and brush your teeth.

The Process

Pediatric Dentist

Talk with your child about your visits to the dentist, so he or she will look forward to going to the dentist as grown-ups do. Brush new molars with a soft toothbrush and when more teeth appear, floss between them. When your child reaches two to three years of age, allow him or her to hold the toothbrush, and assist your child in brushing. At age seven or eight, your child should have enough dexterity to begin flossing his or her own teeth.

Dr. Sherly will examine and clean the teeth of children as young as three years old. We have a comfortable office environment that is kid friendly. TV monitors are in each treatment room, so when your child goes back for treatment, he or she can watch a cartoon program. You are welcome to join him or her in the treatment room. When treatment is finished, your child can pick a prize from our toy chest.

We make visits fun for your child. We want your family to experience the comfort and convenience of having one dentist whom you can trust.

If you want to see our office first, meet Dr. Sherly, ask a few questions, and see if your child is comfortable in our office, request an appointment for complimentary consultation. When you’re comfortable, you can schedule an appointment for an exam. Either request an appointment online or call us at (+1)855-311-3573 to schedule an appointment.
